SNH Flying Eagles Meeting Minutes: April 6, 2005

Meeting called to order at 7:44pm by Jay Francis.

24 members present.  Visitors: Mark Fischer, Bob Scott.  New members: Neil Watts

Officers Report

President Jay Francis:

-          We are a gold leader club this year as witnessed in the Model Aviation magazine.

VP Dave Beach:

- Tuesday evening flight instruction has started with Thursday as the rain date.

Treasurer Jim Austin:

-         Absent:  Treasurers report by Jay Francis.

o       Treasury reported

o       101 members for 04/05.  68 members for 05.

o       Accepting club applications tonight

Secretary Dave Majchrzak:

-         Subscription of Model Aviation to Merrimack Library about to expire.  Will renew.

-         The 2005 club AMA charter and 3 insurance certificates have been received.

-         Have been contacted by Rotary Club regarding July 4th parade.

-         Multi-wing fly-in in Connecticut put on club calendar on website.

Safety Officer Chris Frost:

-         Please keep off of parking lot until water recedes.

-         Most recent magazine had good article on trimming airplane properly.

Field Marshall Gary Aubin:

-         Field is underwater. 4WD vehicles are causing ruts.

-         Contacted owner of potential new field.  Owner still pushing rental fee.  No progress.

-         Discussion resulted in parking lot being closed until water recedes.

Newsletter Editor Bruce Gruenbaum:

-         April 27 is deadline for submissions

-         Please submit more photos.

-         Club had nice write-up in Nashua Telegraph.  Link to article on our website.

Old Business:

-          Jay Francis: Events

o       July 4th: Dave M.

o       Float Fly: Joel/Chris:

Joel: Use permit submitted. 2nd weekend after Labor Day is typical.  Date to be picked this month.

o       Toys for Tots: Gary/Dave M.

New Business

- Jay Francis: Budget

o       Jay presented copies presented to all membership

o       Goal for events will be to break even at least.

o       Expenses to be submitted and approved before spending the money.

o       Eagle Cup and events need budget and approval from officers.

o       Conservative number of members needed to achieve budgeted income.

o       Dave Beach: 04 income $800 less than budget.  04 expense ~$800 more than budget.  Please promote the club.  Membership is the main source of income.

o       Joel C.: to submit fixed expenses of Float Fly.

o       Bob Kilmon:  Recommended we have presence at Hudson Old Home Days.  $115 for 3 days.  Last week of August.  Tented area available.

o       Al Fischer: Asked about lawn expense.  Reply: Basic mower maintenance.

o       Vote:  Budget approved unanimously.

-          Jackets:

o       The following members expressed interest in getting a club jacket: Bob Kilmon, Dave M., Dave Lorenzo, Chris Frost, Bruce Gruenbaum, Mike G., Gary Aubin.

-          Public Access Video:

o       Dave Beach: Town of Merrimack has video production lab.  We can take out their equipment.  No cost to club.

o       Chairs: Dave Beach / John S. / Bruce G.

-          4th of July:

o       Brian Henderson:  Volunteered to make sign to celebrate 20 years in Merrimack.  Club to pay for materials.

-          District 1 News:

o       Joel C.: Now 2 freq. coordinators for District 1

o       New glitch detectors.

-          Trainer for Sale : Bob LaCroix.  Trainer w/ 40FP, 4ch TX and buddy box. $225 for everything.  From TufFlight.

-          Donation to Club: Jay Francis.  Jesse Floras has donated old control line planes, starter, covering iron etc..  Auction will be held tonight.

-          Radios for sale: John Spitz.

Meeting Adjourned at 8:31pm.
