SNH Flying Eagles: December 1, 2004 Club MeetingMeeting called to order at 7:28pm by Bruce Gruenbaum Approximately 26 members present. New Members: Don Genest, Brandon Whitney, Bob Kilman Visitors: Officers Reports President : Bruce Gruenbaum - Container: Shane McCloughlin: MSG says we moved container w/o permission. Shane offered to take issue to court. They demanded $1k for container. Shane said $600. Shane recommends we settle for $800. Show of hands of members present agreed to settle for $800 if possible. - Bruce is unable to be president next year due to work obligations. VP : Dave Beach - Frozen Fingers Fun Fly is on for Jan 9th. Still have not heard back from AMA - SNHRCC Auction at the Litchfield Middle school on Jan 11th at 7:30pm Treasurer : Jim Austin - Treasury reported. 94 members. 99 gallons fuel sold. - Please renew your club membership now! - Please get in your expenses for 2004 now. - January 30th Club banquet at the Merrimack Ground Round. $20 per head. Secretary : Dave Majchrzak - Letter sent to MasterLock requesting replacement of vandalized container lock. - CAGS Auction in Bow, NH on Jan 15th. Auction starts at noon. See our website for details. Field Marshall: Gary Aubin - Possible new field: Flatley property across from St. James Church. Offered to level a runway for us and create an access road. Spoke of possible rent of the site, but Gary pleaded our non-profit status and financial woes. Work could possibly begin in spring but is not in stone yet. Use of the property would only be until it is sold. - 10 keys are to be left in container. Safety Officer: Chris Frost - No safety issues. - Eagles Cup: Volunteers needed to run 11 events in 2005. Newsletter Editor : Mark Devins - Absent Old Business - Winter Carnival: no date set yet. New Business - Brian Henderson: Reported that gate was left open and lock left open. - Frank Phillips: Andy Argento has won the District I VP position. - Jay Francis: Met a man (Mr. Scarboro (sp?)) who is building a WWI full scale plane in his garage. Club field trip is possible if interested. - Joe Marrone: Club solicited by Concord Sky Hawks to save club field. Located near exit 16 north of Concord. Currently flying on operating sod farm. Society for Protection of NH Forests wants to buy land as nature preserve and would allow the Sky Hawks to stay. Want to raise $10k to that end. Motion for SNHFE to donate $100 to cause. Motion seconded and passed based on show of hands. Meeting adjourned at 8:14pm. |
