Minutes of December 5, 2001 Meeting The meeting was called to order at 7:30 by Frank Phillips. Two guests introduced themselves. Vice-President’s report Jim was not here today. Treasurer’s Report Treasury has about $5840, with about 130 members. The raffle prize tonight is a radio case to safely hold your transmitter. Steve is collecting membership renewals. Remember you get a $5 reduction on dues if you take the newsletter via email. Field Marshall Report Field is good. Four people flying at lunchtime today. Newsletter Editor Keep the contributions coming, for the newsletter and website. Safety Officer Joe told us about an accident resulting in several stitches to a member’s hand. The issue was an airplane not well restrained. One side of the plane was against a stop. The throttle was accidentally opened, causing the plane to pivot into the persons hand. Joe asked us all to use a sturdy restraint when the engine is running on the ground. Other Business Frank mentioned the recent vandalism at the field. The police have been involved. Awards banquet is January 20th at Florence’s restaurant. Two ticket prices for different meals, $18 and $24. For the awards, we will have best crash, most improved pilot, and club service. Frank asked for nominations for these awards. Call or email an officer, or bring nominations to the January meeting. The meeting adjourned at 7:55, for the raffle and a discussion on noise reduction. |
