AMA Club #2417

Minutes of January 2, 2002 Meeting

The meeting was called to order at 7:30 by Frank Phillips.

Several guests introduced themselves.

Vice-President’s report

Jim said he is starting a “remote RC Buyers” at the field. He is stocking props for experimenting on noise reduction, plus some other “emergency supplies”.

Treasurer’s Report

Treasury has about $6500, with about 132 members. About half those have renewed. The raffle prize tonight is a hinge slot making machine. Steve is collecting membership renewals. Remember you get a $5 reduction on dues if you take the newsletter via email.

Field Marshall Report

Al thanked everyone who helped mow the field last year.

Newsletter Editor

Keep the contributions coming, for the newsletter and website. Southern NH club has an auction next Tuesday. 495th has an auction in Feb. Hopefully more details in next newsletter.

Safety Officer

Joe said all has been well at the field.

Other Business

Frank went over the plan for the awards banquet, and sold tickets.

For the awards, we will have best crash, most improved pilot, and club service. Frank asked for nominations for these awards. A few nominations were made. Most improved: Duane M, Rich B, Joe B. Best Crash – Mark V. Service – Mark V, Dave B, Jim B. Call or email an officer, or bring nominations to the January meeting.

Frank went over how we want to handle enforcement of the sound policy, as in his article in the last newsletter. Dave reminded us we should not be trying to get as loud as possible without going over the limit, rather try to get it as quiet as possible.

FFFF events – egg drop, climb and guide, and surprise event. No hand launch planes. Unusual takeoffs and spot landing points. Call Mark Versprille at 883-3642 for details. $3 per plane, plus $2 for food.

Jim Burns is running Eagles Cup for 2002. He is dreaming up some new events and asking for volunteers to run one or two events. Starts in February this year.

Mark Versprille suggested more combat events this year.

Bob Sylvester asked if anyone else would like to take over maintaining the video tape library.

Stanley Drobysh sent a letter to Joe thanking us for the field naming event.

Officer nominations, elections in February:

President – Frank Phillips

VP – Jim Burns

Treasurer – Jim Austin

Secretary – Mark Duckworth

Newsletter Editor – Dave Beach

Field Marshall – Duane Mallows

Safety Officer – Mark Versprille; Bob Terry

The meeting adjourned at 8:15, for the raffle and a discussion on noise reduction.
