Minutes of January 8, 2003 MeetingThe meeting was called to order at 7:34 by Frank Phillips. About 20 members were present. President’s report Frank talked about a few items noted below under Other Business. Vice-President’s report Jim was going to do a preflight checklist demonstration, but Joe Marrone has something else interesting to show tonight: forming a canopy. Treasurer’s Report Treasury has about $7464, with 136 members, with about 50 renewals so far. Sold 173 gallons of fuel last year. Raffle prize tonight is a set of skis. Secretary’s Report Was accepted as printed in newsletter. Mark told about the NCRCC Auction coming up. And he told about the Polk’s Hobby Tracker II radio, offered to clubs for the dealer price of $180. Field Marshall Report Parking lot is plowed thanks to member Brian Henderson. The club will pay him. Stove is working. No vandalism recently. Newsletter Editor No report. Safety Officer Safety officer was noticed flying behind the flight line. He was reported to himself. Other Business January 19th for the awards banquet at Florence’s restaurant in Merrimack. Frank is arranging it. Tickets sold in advance. Bar at 4:00, meal at around 5:00. Frozen Fingers Fun Fly date set for January 19th. Jim Burns running it. The plan is to groom the field beforehand. Jim went over the event details, which were published in the newsletter. Frank asked for input on any award categories and nominations for this year’s awards. Frank said he will contact Fran again about the dump closing, and the potential for a flying field there. Dave Beach has the hat’s, T-shirts, and polo shirts with the club logo. Sweatshirts are sold out already. Any help or ideas are always appreciated. Al Fischer volunteered to continue shepherding the club video library. Jim Burns is still looking for a few more volunteers to help run the Eagles Cup events. Bob Sylvester made a motion for the club to give each officer and librarian a free T-shirt from the batch Dave ordered. The members present approved the motion.
