AMA Club #2417

Minutes of June 3, 2001 Meeting

The meeting was called to order at 12:00 by Frank Phillips.

Two guests introduced themselves.

Treasurer’s Report

Treasury has about $3400, with about 101 paid members.

Field Marshall Report

Al thanked everyone who helped with the clean up this morning.  The gate still needs to be painted.  Al asked for volunteers to sign up for mowing the field on specific dates.  Please make sure the container is locked if you are the last one to leave the field.

Safety Officer

Good news, no reports of any accidents.  Don’t leave clothespins on the frequency board.  Cover the number completely when you are using a frequency, and uncover it completely when you are done.

Newsletter

Dave asked if anyone else wants to forego the paper copy of the newsletter and just download it from the web.

Vice-President’s report

No report.

New Business

July 22nd fly in at Rochester.

We are invited back again to Merrimack’s 4th of July event, including a flight demonstration at the Mastricola Middle School, same place as last year.  Joe Marrone volunteered to coordinate our efforts for this event.  Joe went over the plan of events, already published in the newsletter.  Looking for volunteers to do demo flights at 5:00 with park flyer, fun fly, helicopter, gremlin.

Mark Versprille is coordinating the Toys for Tots fun fly for October 14th.  He needs volunteers to help.

Mark V. contacted the Merrimack highway department regarding the landfill as a possible future flying site.  He’s trying to see if the site plan can be updated, at no cost, to improve the usability of the site for flying.  He asked if anyone else in the club could get involved, preferably a Merrimack resident who knows some of the town officials involved.

The private auction of Ollie’s equipment will be sometime soon.

The meeting adjourned at 12:30.
