SNHFE Meeting Minutes: March 5, 2003
Meeting Called to order at 7:30pm by Frank Phillips. Attendance at about 22 members.
New members/ guests: Jim K. introduced himself.
Officer Reports: President: – Joe Marrone to run Delta Dart – out of Thomas Moore college in late April for gifted 6,7,8 graders… VP: Demonstration will be computer radio setup
Treasury: $6500, $2570 – in the reserve fund 135 members, 71 renewals so far for 2003 35 have selected email newsletter option Tonight’s raffle – wing building jig
Secretary: Club Charter renewal for 2003 underway – due by end of March. AMA insurance is up to $60/year or $20/single day. AMA letter to all clubs this year suggests donating your old RC magazines to a local school to promote reading and our hobby. Minutes accepted as printed in February newsletter.
Field Marshall: Duane was absent. Jim Burns mentioned the significant amount of mud in the pits. Frank told of the clubs intention to lock the gate to the pits during very muddy days to prevent further damage to the pits. No vandalism recently. Replacing frequency impound in the spring
Safety: Dave Beach was absent. Frank requested that if children come to the field… please don’t allow them to play w/ frequency control pins. There as been an increased amount of flying behind flight-line which should be stopped.
Newsletter Editor: only 36 newsletters mailed out w/ stamps, the rest are emailed. Frank – personal email now sent to inform of newsletter availability, no longer through Yahoo email blast. Officers now have the ability to send to the club email list.
From the floor: Member suggested that the District 1 group is a good source of info for flea markets, events etc..
New business: · SNHFE Club Auction will be held on April 12th from 8 to noon. · SNHFE Show and Tell at April meeting. · Al Fisher donated some fuel tank foam and utility bottles · Field: A second lock will be placed on the field gate…No parking will be allowed in the pit while muddy. Looking to repair pit this spring .May move the flight stations and/or container further north. Ground hogs may have to find new home. Some budget has been designated to pit repair. Big dip in middle of runway will not be addressed this year. If pit area gets repaired (growing grass), moving container may provide additional parking. Several ideas for pit repair were submitted:
Club would draw up a pit repair proposal once finalized and publish plans in newsletter. · Frank - Head instructor for ’03 is Jim Burns again. · Club will work with the town of Merrimack to try to get a second field at the dump.
