Minutes of May 2, 2001 MeetingThe meeting was called to
order at 7:30 by Frank Phillips. June, July, and August
meetings will be at the field, first Sunday in the month, at 12:00. Three new members introduced themselves. Treasurer’s Report Treasury has about $4462, with about 97 paid
members. Flea market netted about
$269, plus $50 for engines donated by Mark Duckworth.
Everything was sold out by 11:30. Field
Marshall Report Thank
you to Dave Beach for filling the giant ruts on the field.
There are more ruts on the field Al will try to fill.
Al is looking for a big piece of aluminum to build a new frequency board.
He also plans to do some painting. He
asked for volunteers to sign up for mowing the field.
Al will also call the porta-potty company for service. Field
clean up day is June 3rd, 8 – 10 am. Bring shovels, weed cutters, saws, any other tools you have. Safety
Officer No
report this month. Newsletter Thanks
to everyone who signed up for the electronic copy of the newsletter.
We now have a list of names with what frequencies they use.
Dave will put some info on the website, no names, but a count of people
with each frequency. Vice-President’s
report Club
project floats are in process. We
are doing some constructing and covering tonight.
Mark Versprille has a foam cutting machine, and offered to cut some foam
as part of a future club project. Old Business Flea
market was a success. New
Business July 22nd fly in at Rochester.
Fly in with them here, on August 19th. Frank has some club patches, $5 each.
Steve has some blue caps, $14 each.
We’re working on getting some jackets. Ollie Yates is donating some airplanes and
equipment to the club. We might
have an auction for club members only, with proceeds going to the club, perhaps
in June. We are invited back again to Merrimack’s 4th
of July event, including a flight demonstration at the Mastricola Middle School,
same place as last year. Joe
Marrone volunteered to coordinate our efforts for this event. Bob Spear is making the Float Fly arrangements,
everything is going smoothly so far. The club plane receiver is broken, perhaps due to
vandalism. Perhaps we can replace
it with one from Ollie. Also the
charger and a set of floats for the club plane are missing. Dave Beach will keep the plane and equipment at his house,
and bring it to the field by arrangement for students. There was some discussion of the club getting a
couple of buddy boxes and loaning them to students, who would leave a deposit
for them. Frank will follow up on
this, to see if the club can get a couple at a good price. The meeting adjourned at 8:20 for more work on the float building project and a raffle. |
