SNHFE Meeting Minutes: May 5, 2004 Meeting Called to order at 7:32 by Bruce Gruenbaum. Today’s attendance is about 15 members. New members/ guests: Guest speaker Pete Reid to talk about pylon racing. Officer Reports: President Bruce Gruenbaum: - Jim Burns unable to continue as chief instructor. Dave Beach has been appointed. - Frank said the leader club materials were in. - Reminder that flight line violations during Eagles Cups results in immediate disqualification. - September 17-19th dates have been requested for the fall float fly by Joel C. Paperwork has been submitted to the state. Waiting for approval. - Thanks to all who helped with the field cleanup. Please to not clutter the container. - Jackets: Previous model is unavailable. We can pick any jacket off of website. Approx $100 / jacket ($60 for jacket, $40 for embroidery). Contact Bruce if you are interested. - Unofficial BBQ on Friday evenings at the field. Bring your own beef. - Container purchase. Container company offered no discount going forward. We can buy existing container for $2000. New one costs $2400. Our container doors are rusted. We are paying for maintenance. Dave Beach motioned to request repairs for existing container. Motion seconded and carried. VP Dave Beach: - Email sent out about Lithium Ion batteries. They will catch fire if improperly charged. Please do not charge unattended. Use special LiIon charger. - Hitec Transmitters used as a buddy box must use the Hitec cord. - Steve Ferrency was at the field w/ a frequency scanner. Noise was seen on several channels when 2 transmitters were on simultaneously. - Club instructors should make an efforts to show up Sunday’s and Tuesday’s (with Thursdays as a rain date). - Need graduated dues amount for new members posted in the container. Dave M. will post. Treasurer Jim Austin: - Treasury reported. 85 members so far for 2004. 18 gallons of fuel sold year-to-date. Today’s raffle is sanding bars and paper. Secretary Dave Majchrzak: - New member packets have been put in the lockers in the container. Field Marshall Bill Bootle: - Bill needs help mowing the field. Sign up sheet is in the container. Please raise mower deck to highest setting when moving the mower back into the container. Safety Officer Chris Frost: - Absent. Newsletter Editor Mark Devins: - Absent. Old business: - Gate and container locks are difficult to lock. Duane will be contacted about replacements. - Alt. flying sites: Golf course is going into Milford property. Milford quary was visited and deemed unsuitable. Joel C. suggested the 12 acres behind the medical center in Milford. Access is the main problem with that site. Frank P. has not received feedback from Merrimack yet about proposed landfill site. New business: - Frank Philips presented Gold Leader Club plaque, gold name plate and pins - Next general meeting Sunday June 6th at Noon at the field. - Program for June is computer transmitter programming.
