Business Joel asked for volunteers to lead the Yankee Swap
at the next meeting. Also looking
for an Awards Banquet chairman and Frozen Fingers Fun Fly CD. Bob Sylvester volunteered for Yankee Swap.
Joel offered to do the awards banquet, tentatively Jan 20th.
Dick Easton volunteered for Frozen Fingers, tentatively January 14th Field naming – These names were on the ballot,
including names added tonight: Patterson
Field After the first round of voting, the top two
choices were Stanley Drobysh Field and Drobysh - Patterson Field. The final round selected Drobysh - Patterson as the name to
submit to the Merrimack town selectmen. Gerry suggested we consider reducing the frequency
of club meetings and newsletters. One
reason is to save money on the newsletter and meeting place rental fee.
There was also interest in having more program events, such as
presentations at meetings or touring people’s workshops, or demos of various
construction techniques or more show and tell events.
The consensus was to keep monthly meetings as we have been doing. Joel mentioned the Charles River club auction
coming up on Nov 5th in Natick. The meeting adjourned at 8:30, with a raffle for a CG machine and a presentation by Gerry on his hand launch glider. |
