Minutes of November 6, 2002 MeetingThe meeting began at 7:30, with about 22 members present. President’s report Frank said he would pursue trying to get the town to plow the road down the hill to the field. Frank talked about the award and plaque the AMA presented to the club at the Toys for Tots event. The AMA gave us patches, which are available to any club member who helped in one of the club events this year. Treasurer’s Report Jim Austin gave the Treasurer’s report: about $7045 in the treasury, but we still owe about $700 back for the recent auction. We have about 135 members. Renewals are ready. Show Jim your AMA card for 2003, give him a check, and you will be renewed for next year. Secretary's report Secretaries report was accepted as printed. Field Marshall Report Duane is arranging to have the parking lot plowed this winter. Same person as last year, $75/storm, only plow if 4 inches or more of snow. The club agreed this is a fair deal. Old business: Mark Versprille talked about the combat event coming up in Hudson. He asked for volunteers to come help, come watch, come compete. He gave away a couple of foam core wing sets to people interested in building combat planes. Mark also gave a summary of the Toys for Tots event. He will set a date for the event again next year. New business: We are looking for volunteers to run the Frozen Fingers Fun Fly in January. Al Fischer suggested a friend of his might be able to make a new transmitter impound for the club. The old one was destroyed by vandals. There will be a Yankee Swap at the December meeting. If you want to participate, bring a new wrapped gift in the $10 to $15 range. The meeting ended at 8:15 with a raffle of a Train-Air 40. Thanks to John Stevens for donating the prize. Jim Burns gave a demonstration of how to attach skis to an airplane for winter flying.
