Minutes of September 4, 2002 Meeting The meeting was called to order at 7:35 by Frank Phillips. About 16 members and one guest were present. President’s report Frank talked about the emergency meeting held on Aug 25th for the purpose of approving the expenditure of up to $1500 for a new lawnmower. The club purchased a lawnmower for $1000 and has used it already. There was much discussion of the folklore around various tasks we must do for mower maintenance. Vice-President’s report Jim gave a tutorial on setting up floats. Treasurer’s Report Treasury has about $6340 (before paying the $1K for the mower), with about 123 members paid up. Raffle prize tonight is a laser incidence meter. Field Marshall Report Field is good. Porta-potty was tipped over again. Impound shelves were knocked over again. Frank will talk to one of the police officers. Duane asked that we all take away our own trash, including rubber bands and cigarette butts, rather than leaving them in the pit area. Newsletter Editor Dave mentioned some upcoming events. If you know of any events, tell him and he’ll get them on the calendar. Safety Officer Safety officer was not present. Nobody mentioned any safety problems. Other Business Float Fly – Bob asked if we have any safety fence for a run-up area. Dave offered to bring some. Also need the frequency control kit. Horizon Hobbies invited us to write an article with pictures for their web site. Bob is also trying to get an article published in the Union Leader. Bob needs more volunteers. Several people at the meeting volunteered to help. The club owns a bullhorn we can use. It works very well. Matt is offering a Sig Four-Star for sale for $75 |
