AMA Club #2417

Minutes of September 6, 2000 Meeting

The meeting was called to order at 7:35 by Joel Chappell.

Secretary’s Report

Steve filled in for the Secretary last month, so he quickly went over the minutes (unpublished) of the last meeting.  The highlights: Discussion on new trash policy (take out your own trash), work on Toys for Tots event, float fly, fly-ins with other clubs, and club plane still missing.  Looking for volunteers for TFT and float fly.

Treasurer’s Report

Steve reported a large expenditure for the field container, $520,  leaving about $2600 in the treasury.  The club has 102 members.

Field Marshall Report

Ed set October 8th 8:00 – 10:00 for the field clean up day.  General clean up, fix up the fence, get the field ready for Toys for Tots event.  Bring weed cutters, rakes, clippers, whatever you have.

The locks on the container and gate are sometimes difficult to lock.  Check when you leave to make sure it locks.  Ed will check the locks to make sure they are working okay.

Safety Officer

Safety Officer not present. No report or issues.

Newsletter

Newsletter was a little thin this month.  Frank asked for anyone to submit material if they want to write something for the newsletter.

New members/Guests

One new guest from Londonderry was here, interested in finding an instructor to work with.

Old Business

Bob Spear talked about the Float Fly – still a few campsites available.  Looking for volunteers to help.

Toys for Tots – Mark Versprille has things moving right along.  We will try to nail down volunteers for specific types of help after the float fly.

New Business

Bob Walls has donated a new trainer plane and radio to the club.  It needs a little work to get it ready to fly, which Bob Spear volunteered to do.  The club will send a letter of thanks.

AMA is asking for the coordinates of our field for their flying site database.  Joe Marrone offered to get the numbers, which are on the board at the field.

Joe Marrone said again that the church asks us to not park along the curb by the yellow marks.  Please use the white marked spaces in the lot.

Joel talked about the great air show he went to, he might have video at the next meeting.

Bob Lacroix reported there is no immediate danger of losing our field due to any town plans for the property.

There was discussion of the lock policy, regarding keys and combinations.  The combination might be changed soon.

The meeting adjourned at 8:30, for a look at Flying Dutchman plans, Jim Jackson’s plane, and a raffle.
