Minutes of September 6, 2000 MeetingThe meeting was called to
order at 7:35 by Joel Chappell. Secretary’s Report Steve filled in for the Secretary last month, so he
quickly went over the minutes (unpublished) of the last meeting.
The highlights: Discussion on new trash policy (take out your own trash),
work on Toys for Tots event, float fly, fly-ins with other clubs, and club plane
still missing. Looking for
volunteers for TFT and float fly. Treasurer’s Report Steve reported a large expenditure for the field
container, $520, leaving about
$2600 in the treasury. The club has
102 members. Field Marshall Report Ed
set October 8th 8:00 – 10:00 for the field clean up day.
General clean up, fix up the fence, get the field ready for Toys for Tots
event. Bring weed cutters, rakes,
clippers, whatever you have. The
locks on the container and gate are sometimes difficult to lock.
Check when you leave to make sure it locks.
Ed will check the locks to make sure they are working okay. Safety Officer Safety

was a little thin this month. Frank
asked for anyone to submit material if they want to write something for the
newsletter. New members/Guests One
new guest from Londonderry was here, interested in finding an instructor to work
with. Old Business Bob
Spear talked about the Float Fly – still a few campsites available.
Looking for volunteers to help. Toys
for Tots – Mark Versprille has things moving right along.
We will try to nail down volunteers for specific types of help after the
float fly. New Business Bob Walls has donated a new trainer plane and radio
to the club. It needs a little work
to get it ready to fly, which Bob Spear volunteered to do. The club will send a letter of thanks. AMA is asking for the coordinates of our field for
their flying site database. Joe
Marrone offered to get the numbers, which are on the board at the field. Joe Marrone said again that the church asks us to
not park along the curb by the yellow marks.
Please use the white marked spaces in the lot. Joel talked about the great air show he went to, he
might have video at the next meeting. Bob Lacroix reported there is no immediate danger
of losing our field due to any town plans for the property. There was discussion of the lock policy, regarding
keys and combinations. The
combination might be changed soon. The meeting adjourned at 8:30, for a look at Flying Dutchman plans, Jim Jackson’s plane, and a raffle. |
