SNH Flying Eagles: September 07, 2005 Club Meeting

Meeting called to order at 7:30pm by Jay Francis

Approximately 16 members present.

New Members/ Visitors:  -

 

Officers Reports

President : Jay Francis :

-         Thanks for the great turnout at the picnic.

 

VP : David Beach :

-         New solo pilot: Bob Scott.

-         Instruction continues on Tuesdays as long as we are in daylight savings time.

-         Norm Ellis is looking for volunteers for the Aviation Heritage Festival.

-         A new batch of club business cards is in.

-         A club banner has been ordered and is being made by the AMA.

 

Treasurer : Jim Austin :

-         Treasury was reported.  Contact Jim for details.

-         100 members.

-         Tonights raffle : Expanded Scale Voltmeter

 

Secretary : Dave Majchrzak

-         So. Shore RC Auction : Sunday Nov 6.  More info at www.ssrcc.org

-         Maine Jet Rally in Sanford, ME same weekend as our Float Fly.

-         Toys for Tots letters sent out.  25 to vendors asking for donations, 4 to local newspapers, 8 fliers to local clubs.

-         RC Buyers’ Warehouse has donated a Firebird Commander 2 to the Toys for Tots drive! Thank You!

-         I have Toys for Tots fliers available for members to post around town

 

Field Marshall: Gary Aubin

-         Fall cleanup on October 16th at 8AM – one week before Toys for Tots.

-         Trying to contact Marines about Toys for Tots event.

-         Some ruts from 4x4 on south end of field.  Club authorized $50 to try to fix field w/ loam, seed, etc.

-         Truck also broke the gate.  Gate has been repaired. Thanks to John Spitz for lending his welder.

 

Safety Officer: Chris Frost  : Absent

-         No report

 

Old Business

-         Aviation Heritage Festival. Norm Ellis

o       No response form Bob Langlois, District VP.

o       Sunday morning and Saturday morning volunteers needed (~10AM – Noon)

o       Gate open at 7:30AM for exhibitors. Show opens at 8:30AM.

o       Banner is being worked on, a proof is coming.  Will be black on white.

-         Float Fly. Joel Chappell

o       All paperwork is in. Event is sanctioned and insured.

o       25 camping slots.

o       Whole center beach is ours

o       Planes can be left overnight in the store.  Electricity for charging is available.

o       Need volunteers for 5 jobs: Safety inspector, Beach Master, Impound table, retrieval boat (all set) and lots of spotters.

o       Friday is setup and open fly.

o       Lunch break open ro RC boats / subs.

o       Bob Brassard will supply a grill

o       Giving away awards for various categories.
